For the second time in a week, a fire was set Saturday afternoon at a Lancaster junior high school, authorities said. An arsonist set a fire at the Parkview Middle School at the corner of Avenue J and Fig Avenue, Lt. Dan Reidder of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

The blaze, to which firefighters were sent at 4:50 p.m., caused $150,000 in property damage. No people were in the school during the fire and nobody was injured, Reidder said.

An arsonist set fire to the Monte Vista Junior High School in Lancaster July 23. Police are investigating the possibility that the same person set the two fires, Reidder said.
