A Promise Is a Promise

Re: “Fryman Canyon Permits to Be Studied,” B3, June 28:

If anyone is abusing the process, it’s Mr. Sahadi. He made a promise to the city, and to the public, you and I, to donate the open space unaltered at the same time he recorded his tract, which was almost two years ago. Today, with his tract recorded, not only is his promise unfulfilled, he also plans to alter this land with a road 1,000 feet long, at least 16 feet wide, with a vertical cut of over 17 feet--a big “V” gouged clear across the whole hill, ripping out the forest roots and all.

If I sell you a car, can I drive a bulldozer over it before delivery? We expect the city to hold Mr. Sahadi to his promise, and now.
