Toshiba Sues Former Laptop Distributor: Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. on Thursday filed a breach of contract lawsuit against a former distributor of its laptop computers, seeking more than $1.6 million in damages. The Irvine-based Toshiba unit cancelled its distribution agreement with Tech Data Corp. of Clearwater, Fla., in April. The suit, filed in Orange County Superior Court in Santa Ana, claims that Tech Data failed to make payments on certain overdue accounts. Tim Godwin, chief financial officer for Tech Data, said his firm was “surprised” at the lawsuit.
