Would-Be Peacemaker Shot to Death in Dispute
A Lomita man who tried to be the peacemaker in a dispute between his twin brother and another man died this week after the man suddenly drew a gun and shot him twice in the chest.
Kevin Michael Pack, 23, died at Bay Harbor Hospital about an hour after the 10:30 p.m. Monday shooting in the courtyard of a Lomita condominium complex, Sheriff’s Deputy Roger Hom said.
The man accused of shooting Pack, William Henry Hosken, 23, was booked on suspicion of murder and was being held without bail, Hom said.
Pack went with two friends to Hosken’s home to try to resolve a dispute between Hosken and Pack’s twin, Steve, witnesses said. Steve Pack, who did not know his brother was going to talk to Hosken, said in an interview that he had been dating Hosken’s estranged wife, Donna, and that Hosken had been threatening the couple.
