Bickerstaff Said to Get Nugget Job
Bernie Bickerstaff resigned late Tuesday night as vice president of basketball operations for the Seattle SuperSonics, who then announced he would become general manager of the Denver Nuggets today.
There was no immediate confirmation from the Nuggets, who have been searching for a general manager for three months, but Bickerstaff reportedly attended the All-Star baseball game in Chicago Tuesday night as a guest of Nugget managing general partner Peter Bynoe and president Carl Scheer.
Bickerstaff, 46, resigned as the SuperSonics’ coach May 15 to move into the front office. He was replaced on the bench by assistant K.C. Jones.
