GARY COLEMAN

Stumbo demonstrated a lack of understanding about adoption. She stated: “He isn’t actually theirs. They won’t say how they acquired him.” Children are not “acquired” by adoptive parents. I’m sure that to Sue and Willie Coleman, Gary is (as my son is to me) no less “theirs” than a biological son would have been. The adoption process is a personal, family matter, and I admire the Colemans for not publicly revealing the details surrounding his adoption.

The bonds and love adoptive families share are the equivalent of those in biological families.
