A Tarzana electronics technician was electrocuted while working on a satellite transmitter at a Palms company.

Kyle Sheppard Grimm, 29, was pronounced dead on arrival at Brotman Medical Center in Culver City, said David Campbell, a supervising investigator with the Los Angeles County coroner’s office. Paramedics had been called to IDB Communications Group, 10525 Washington Blvd., at 6 a.m. Monday, Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells said.

Grimm, a radio frequency engineer employed by IDB for several years, “was accidentally killed when he came in contact with high voltage,” said Jeffrey Sudikoff, IDB’s chief executive officer. He said the equipment Grimm was working on operates on a minimum of 8,000 volts.

IDB, a Los Angeles-based company, provides worldwide satellite transmission services for radio, television, cable TV and computer data, Sudikoff said.
