Fryer to Compete in Phoenix Suns’ Free-Agent Camp
Loyola Marymount’s Jeff Fryer will be among the 18 players participating in the Phoenix Suns’ three-day camp for rookies and free agents that begins today at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum, the team announced Wednesday.
Fryer, a 6-2 guard from Corona del Mar, was not drafted last month and will attend camp as a free agent. Cedric Ceballos, a second-round draft pick of the Suns from Cal State Fullerton, also will be at the camp. First-round pick Jayson Williams, a forward from St. John’s, and guard Negele Knight, a second-rounder from Dayton, also are expected to participate.
After Saturday night’s final scrimmage, Suns assistant coaches Paul Westphal and Lionel Hollins will select a squad to play in the four-team Rocky Mountain Revue in Salt Lake City from July 23-27. The Suns team then will play in the Los Angeles Summer Pro League beginning July 30.
