James (Buddy) McGirt fought sluggishly with a sore left arm but boxed well enough to win a unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Jose Leonard Bermudez in a 10-round bout between two welterweight contenders in Atlantic City, N.J.
McGirt, 50-2-1 with 39 knockouts, extended his winning streak to 12 with the victory over the less-experienced Bermudez, 19-1-2.
