McMartin Jury Concludes 3rd Week of Deliberations

The jury deliberating the fate of McMartin Pre-School molestation defendant Ray Buckey went home early Thursday because one member of the panel had a doctor’s appointment.
Jurors have reached verdicts on two counts against the 32-year-old former Manhattan Beach nursery school teacher, but informed the judge Monday that they were deadlocked on the remaining six counts. Thursday marked the end of the third week of jury deliberations.
After being ordered back to the jury room for further discussions, the panel spent most of the week listening to a re-reading of testimony from an alleged child victim, her mother, and a pediatrician who examined all three youngsters in the case.
An earlier jury acquitted Buckey on 40 counts but were unable to agree on 13.
