Vikings Deal Makes Carter a Millionaire
Anthony Carter and the Minnesota Vikings have agreed in principle on a contract that would make Carter one of the highest-paid receivers in the NFL, according to a published report today.
The deal was agreed to Sunday night, and Carter was expected to report for the opening of training camp today in Mankato, the Star Tribune said.
Carter’s attorney, Bob Woolf, confirmed that the sides had reached an agreement but told the newspaper “there is still some writing to reduce and some details to go over, so it’s not completely done yet.”
Neither Woolf nor Vikings General Manager Mike Lynn would divulge terms of the contract.
Carter’s representatives were looking for a four-year deal worth $5 million.
One unidentified source said the deal is worth more than $1 million a year, the Star Tribune reported.
