DeJesus to Battle Palomares at Irvine Marriott
Felipe DeJesus (28-6) of Baldwin Park takes on Jorge Palomares (19-4) of Los Angeles in the main event of the monthly boxing program, which starts at 7:30 tonight at the Irvine Marriott.
The main event was originally supposed to feature Huntington Beach lifeguard John Armijo, but he injured his eye while training last week. Villa Park’s Mike Samaza will fight Sergio Medina of Pomona at 128 pounds. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. at the hotel.
