Errico to Speak in Laguna Niguel

Rocco A. Errico, a teacher, lecturer and author, will be guest speaker Sunday at the 10 a.m. service at Saddleback Church of Religious Science. Errico is one of the leading authorities on the Bible in Aramaic, the language of Jesus, and is now translating the Gospels directly from Aramaic texts into English. The Medjugorje Peace Conference, an ecumenical event to present and explore what some clerics maintain is the continued daily appearances of the Virgin Mary to six young people in the village of Medjugorje, Yugoslavia, will be held Aug. 11 and 12 at the Bren Events Center on the UC Irvine campus. The apparitions, the clerics say, began in 1981. The events, sponsored by Medjugorje Peace Conference Committee and Follow-Me Communications Radio Ministry, will be held from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Aug. 11 and 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 12. Roger Dittman, professor of nuclear physics at Cal State Fullerton, will speak Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at the Unitarian Church of Orange County, 1120 W. Santa Ana St., Anaheim.
