From Times Staff and Wire Service Reports

A brush fire believed ignited by a lightning bolt continued burning this morning in Angeles National Forest west of Lancaster but the blaze was not endangering any homes, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.

The fire, which was started about 6 p.m. Sunday during an electrical storm, had burned 125 acres of brush near 200 Street West and Lancaster Road, county fire dispatcher Ronald Coffin said.

Coffin said county and U.S. Forestry Service firefighters have the slow-moving blaze 90% contained but are making no estimate on how long it will take to control it. A helicopter and a crew of more than 50 were fighting the fire.

Coffin said about a dozen other fires started by lightning strikes in the Santa Clarita and Antelope valleys were quickly put out Sunday night after burning only a few acres total.
