‘Tattooed Rapist’ Suspect Waives Extradition
A man authorities allege is the so-called “Tattooed Rapist” sought by California authorities for 10 years waived extradition to California Monday.
Frank Everett Comstock, 46, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa and waived an extradition hearing. Authorities said he will be transported to California within 10 days. Comstock was arrested Saturday in a Williams, Iowa, motel. Authorities said Comstock was apparently working as a farm laborer.
He was wanted in connection with five rapes in California, including three in the Los Angeles area in 1980, one in San Luis Obispo in 1989 and another near Palm Springs, also in 1989. Authorities said he is also suspected of being involved in as many as 11 other sexual assaults.
The attacker was dubbed the “Tattooed Rapist” because of several unusual tattoos described by victims.
