Despite the state’s recent suspension of requirements regarding public notice of agenda items, Santa Monica City Council members have directed the city attorney to draft an ordinance ensuring that they will continue to post their agenda at least 72 hours before their meetings.
Councilman Ken Genser said at Tuesday night’s meeting that he did not want the council to have the power to waive the rules and add an item to the agenda at a late hour without public notice.
