Nine residents in Thousand Oaks have taken out papers to run in the November City Council election, but so far only two officially have entered the race, the city clerk’s office said Thursday.

Councilman Larry Horner filed his papers last week with the clerk’s office. The week before, Mayor Alex Fiore submitted his paperwork to seek reelection.

But City Clerk Nancy Dillon said seven others have not returned their papers. Those seeking election must turn in their paperwork by Wednesday.

Three seats are up for grabs in the election.
