Boy, 14, Shot by Friend While Playing With Gun
A 14-year-old boy was in extremely critical condition Friday after he was shot in the head by one of a group of his friends who were playing with a gun, authorities said.
Donnell Arsene was shot in the head as he and several other youths played with the gun in a house in the 100 block of East 80th Street in Los Angeles shortly before midnight Thursday, Detective Larry Kallestad said.
He said investigators were “reasonably sure” the shooting was accidental, but that the inquiry had not been completed. The boy was taken to Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center, where he was in extremely critical condition, Kallestad said.
