A Santee man was killed early Sunday morning when his plane crashed shortly after taking off from the San Diego Ultralight Park, a coroner’s deputy said.
Lee Roy Barnes, 59, died when his plane crashed just south of San Vicente Road about 8:45 a.m. Sunday, said coroner’s deputy Max Murphy.
The cause of the crash was unknown, Murphy said.
