San Diego
A 36-year-old man was shot and killed by robbers at a house reputedly used as a headquarters to buy and sell drugs, authorities said Tuesday.
Lazaro Medina of National City died at San Diego General Hospital shortly after 10:30 p.m. Monday, said Deputy Coroner Chuck Bolton.
Three friends brought Medina to the hospital, and each man reportedly offered a different explanation of what had happened to Medina, who died from a single gunshot wound to the stomach, San Diego police spokesman Bill Robinson said.
After interviewing witnesses, detectives determined that Medina had been at a house frequented by drug dealers in the 2600 block of C Street, Robinson said.
Medina was reportedly shot during an attempt to rob him of drugs and money, Robinson said.
