Oxnard Man Pleads Guilty in Robbery
An Oxnard man pleaded guilty Tuesday in U. S. District Court in Los Angeles to charges that he robbed a Port Hueneme bank April 27.
Officials said Antonio Perez, 25, walked into the Imperial Savings branch at 2671 N. Ventura Road and handed the teller a note reading: “Don’t make any sudden moves. I have a gun, don’t make me use it. Don’t try to be a hero.”
The teller handed an undisclosed amount of cash to Perez, who fled, said Agent Gary Auer, Ventura regional supervisor of the FBI.
Perez was arrested May 7 in Oxnard by Port Hueneme police and FBI agents and indicted on bank robbery charges May 22 by the U. S. District Court grand jury in Los Angeles.
Perez, who pleaded guilty Tuesday before Judge Harry L. Hupp, faces 20 years in prison and a $5,000 fine. Sentencing is scheduled Oct. 15.
