Formal Dinner Wins at Saratoga
Racing as part of the Wayne Lukas-trained entry with Radio Daze, Formal Dinner took the lead soon after the start and held it throughout for a four-length victory over Beaudaspic in Wednesday’s $92,100 Sanford Stakes at Saratoga Race Course.
With Jose Santos in the saddle, Formal Dinner covered six furlongs in 1:10 1/5 in beating a field of 10 2-year-olds. Beaudaspic finished 2 1/2 lengths ahead of Link, followed by Tustunugee, Tammany, Three Coins Up, Raise Fury, Radio Daze, Ducere and Devon Fair.
Formal Dinner, a son of Well Decorated, won his second race in four starts to collect $55,260. The winning entry returned $6.60, $4.20 and $3. Beaudaspic paid $26.80 and $7.80, and Link $3.80 to show.
