Nine-year NBA veteran Jay Vincent, a member of the Lakers last season, signed a one-year contract worth $700,000 with Philips Milan of the Italian League.
Vincent, 31, played for five teams during his NBA career, averaging 15.2 points a game. His best season was his first, when he averaged 21.4 points in 81 games for the Dallas Mavericks.
In 41 games for the Lakers last season, the 6-foot-7 forward averaged 5.2 points and 11.2 minutes.
Vincent’s departure from the Lakers is expected to be followed closely by the signing of 34-year-old Michael Cooper to a contract by Il Messaggero of Rome.
