BALTIMORE — Safely Kept, the 1989 Eclipse Award winning sprinter, was established as an 8-5 favorite Thursday for the first Frank J. DeFrancis Memorial Dash at Pimlico on Saturday.
The Maryland-bred filly will start from the No. 5 post in the seven-horse field for $350,000 nationally-televised six furlong event.
Second choice on the morning line is Sunny Blossom, a 5-year-old gelding who was shipped in from California for the race. He is listed at 5-2 and drew the sixth position.
Others in the field include Sewickley, Glitterman, Brave Adventure, Kechi and Northern Wolf.
