Animal Trainer Cruelty Charges
I have just read “Orangutan Trainer Is Awarded $4.2 Million” (Part A, Aug. 12) and I am sickened. It is a sad comment on society when we’ve reached the state where we reward flagrant abuse of another living thing with a huge sum of money. The videotape of the abuse was as repugnant as any form of child or spousal abuse and society should be no more tolerant of Berosini than any other abuser.
I can only hope that would-be customers to his show will stay away and that the word will spread of his heinous act. He may imagine that he’s won a great victory in his lawsuit, but his reputation and future as an “animal trainer” should be shot if there is any justice left.
