Security Guard Injured in Suspected Gang Attack
A security guard was wounded early Tuesday when suspected gang members exchanged gunfire with security officers at a housing project in Willowbrook, police said.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies said they heard Monday that a murder attempt would be made on security officers at the Ujima Village housing project. They warned the officers to be cautious and on alert for suspicious emergency calls.
About 1:15 a.m. the next morning, two cars drove through the housing project and 10 shots were fired at three security officers standing outside. The guards returned 14 rounds. One security guard was grazed in the head by a bullet and was treated at the scene.
