The San Diego Symphony, under the direction of guest conductor Gary Sheldon, will perform a bevy of Broadway show tunes Sunday evening in the last concert of the Escondido “Pops in the Park” series. Fireworks will cap off the performance at the Kit Carson Amphitheater.

Proceeds from the concert series will benefit the Felicita Foundation, Escondido’s cultural arts association.

Conductor Sheldon is the music director of the Marin Symphony in Northern California and is a frequent guest conductor for symphony, opera and ballet. He recently captured prizes in two major conducting competitions, the Stokowski Competition in New York and the Rupert Competition in London.
