‘Miss Saigon’ Casting Furor

In his column, “A Degradation of American Liberalism,” George F. Will uses “liberalism” 11 times in blaming “liberals” for Actors’ Equity denying a role to a British actor in the New York production of “Miss Saigon” (Commentary, Aug. 13).

He even lays part of the blame for Equity’s action on recently retired Supreme Court Justice William Brennan.

Will should realize that some things are liberal or conservative, some are left or right, some are up or down and some are stupid or smart.

Let’s charge Equity with being stupid and leave Justice Brennan out of it.
