Outage Affects 3,400 in Agoura Hills Area
Agoura Hills City Hall was among 3,400 customers that lost power for 70 minutes Saturday evening when a support arm on an electric pole snapped, causing two power lines to touch, Southern California Edison said.
The touching caused Edison’s Malibu substation to shut off power at 6:02 p.m. in the two circuits served by the lines, Edison spokesman Paul Klein said.
The pole whose support arm broke is located at Canwood Street between Forest Cove Lane and Strawberry Hill Drive, he said.
Power was restored to all customers at 7:12 p.m., when workers temporarily repaired the broken support arm, Klein said.
One of the affected circuits serves the area west of Kanan Road and north and south of the Ventura Freeway, he said.
The other serves the area west of Kanan Road and north of the Ventura Freeway.
