Henry J. Greenwald; Retired Insurance Salesman

Henry J. Greenwald, a longtime insurance salesman, has died at his Toluca Lake home. He was 74.

He died Friday of a heart attack, his son, S. Michael Greenwald, said.

A native of Cleveland, Greenwald served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. After the war, he moved to California and eventually settled in Toluca Lake, where he lived for the past 35 years. He sold workers’ compensation insurance for most of his life, most recently for Republic Indemnity Co. of America in Encino. He retired in 1981. He enjoyed playing the organ and belonged to a social group of organists.

Greenwald is survived by his son, who lives in Granada Hills; a daughter, Kathryn Davis of Woodland Hills; a sister, Ruth Renner of Aurora, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

Services will be private. J.T. Oswald Mortuary in North Hollywood is handling the arrangements. Donations may be made in Greenwald’s name to the Granada Hills Hospital Foundation or the American Cancer Society, San Fernando Valley unit.
