SHORT TAKES : Actress’ ‘Admirer’ Pleads Guilty

A Michigan man obsessed with actress Stephanie Zimbalist pleaded guilty in federal court in Los Angeles today to sending threatening letters signed “Your Secret Admirer” to the actress. Michael Lawrence Shields, 42, of Plymouth, Mich., pleaded guilty to seven counts of mailing threatening communications to the actress, reluctantly admitting that the letters contained veiled threats.
Under the terms of the plea agreement, Shields can only be sentenced to six months to a year in prison.
