Channel Islands 30, Rio Mesa 18--Senior running back Renard Carn rushed for 197 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Raiders at home.

Carn took the first handoff for the Raiders on their new field and raced 41 yards to the Rio Mesa two-yard line. Two plays later Carn crossed the goal line to give Channel Islands a 6-0 lead.

Carn added touchdown runs of 49 and four yards in the fourth quarter to help the Raiders seal the victory.

Rio Mesa tight end Sam Garcia caught touchdown passes of 12 and 20 yards from quarterback Angel Lopez. Garcia’s final scoring catch cut Channel Islands’ lead to 23-18 with six minutes left.
