Oxnard 21, Camarillo 15--Larry Bumpus scored on a one-yard quarterback sneak with 51 seconds to play, capping a 97-yard drive and lifting the Yellowjackets to their sixth consecutive victory over the Scorpions.
Bumpus completed six of 15 passes for 148 yards and one touchdown. Senior running back Kenyon Lewis had 116 yards in 19 carries.
Camarillo scored in the second quarter when Fahali Campbell swept in from 18 yards out to complete a nine-play drive. Later in the quarter, Campbell scored on a one-yard run after Brian Vellmure recovered an Oxnard fumble on the Oxnard 17. His second touchdown gave Camarillo a 13-7 halftime lead.
Camarillo boosted its lead in the third quarter when Oxnard’s snap on punt formation went over the punter’s head and into the end zone, resulting in a safety.
On Oxnard’s first possession of the game, Dan Duchai scored on a one-yard run, capping a 12-play drive.
