Romo Throws for 6 Scores in SMU Romp

DALLAS —
Mike Romo threw a school-record six touchdown passes and moved ahead of Don Meredith on Southern Methodist’s all-time yardage list as the Mustangs routed Vanderbilt, 44-7, in their first meeting in 53 years.
It’s Vanderbilt’s worst opening loss in 101 years of football, surpassing a 42-7 setback to Mississippi State last year.
Romo passed for 342 yards on 31 of 41 passes, an SMU record of 75.6%.
