West Hollywood : Forum on Card Club Plan
The Chamber of Commerce will hold a forum on the city’s card club initiative at 8 a.m. Oct. 3 in the Plummer Park Fiesta Hall, 7377 Santa Monica Blvd. Advocates and opponents of the initiative will discuss the measure, which is on the Nov. 6 municipal ballot.
Supporters of the initiative, which would pave the way for a card casino, say the proposed club could generate $5 million to $10 million annually for the city. Opponents question those claims and argue that the club would increase crime and traffic problems in the already congested city.
