Tour de France champion Greg LeMond won the 35-mile Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival race at Cable, Wis., in his debut on a mountain bike.
LeMond pulled away from six challengers eight miles from the finish of the race between Hayward, Wis., and Cable. He finished in 2:17:58, 1:30 ahead of Scott Hebel of Burnsville, Minn.
