The pilot episode of St. Elsewhere (Monday at 7 p.m. on KDOC) starts a run of the series. The sometimes gritty, sometimes wry medical drama ran on NBC from 1982 to 1988. The reruns air weekdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 9 p.m.

Also beginning Monday, KDOC will air the sitcom The Tom Ewell Show (weekdays at 5:30 a.m.), which CBS originally aired 1960-61, and the ABC drama The Law and Mr. Jones (Saturday at 5:30 a.m.), which stars James Whitmore and ran from 1960-62.

Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari were silly even before “Big” and “Newhart,” as Bosom Buddies proves. It’s back, weekdays at 6:30 p.m. on KTTV, beginning with the pilot on Monday.

Other pilots for shows joining KCAL’s lineup: The Golden Girls (Monday at 7:30 p.m.), ALF (Monday at 5 p.m.) and 227 (Monday at 6:30 p.m.

Gene Hackman plays a vindictive explosives expert on an I Spy (Friday at 2 a.m. on KDOC) from 1968.

A Looney Tunes marathon preempts regular Nickelodeon programs on Monday from 3 to 8 p.m.

Anjelica Huston is Geraldine on a Laverne & Shirley (Sunday at 2:30 p.m. on KTLA) from the 1982-83 season, several years before her Oscar-winning performance in “Prizzi’s Honor.”

Cagney shoots a young boy in “An Unusual Occurrence” on Cagney & Lacey (Tuesday at 2 p.m. on Lifetime).

Writing Emmys went to William Link and Richard Levinson for “Death Lends a Hand” (Friday at 8:30 p.m. on KTLA), one of three Columbo episodes with Robert Culp as guest murderer; and Ed Weinberger and Stan Daniels for The Mary Tyler Moore Show (Thursday at 9 p.m. on KDOC), in which Mary spends a night in jail.

Dennis Weaver and his sons Rusty and Robby guest star on Magnum, P.I. (Thursday at 4 p.m. on KTLA).
