Shared Tables May Be the Way to Go
I think the idea of shared tables is wonderful. It would fill a gap. I’ve thought of signing up with a dating service or writing an ad in the newspaper in order to meet someone, but I don’t want love or marriage or a commitment. I just would like to eat Saturday breakfast or lunch or dinner on the way home from work with someone once in a while.
It would also be good for restaurant business. I would eat out much more often if it were an easy social event. Restaurants need to be more user-friendly.
It’s just another time-consuming chore to organize a dinner date with your friends. They’re busy, they’re tired, they don’t want to eat the same time you do or you get to talk to an answering machine. By sharing a table, you get someone who wants to eat out at that exact time with no hassle.
I hope Judy Soburn will line up some Pasadena restaurants for shared seating.
