Praises Coverage of Santa Monica Race

A large bouquet of rarest orchids to The Times for its superb analysis of the forthcoming election in Santa Monica--unquestionably the first, most concise presentation of issues and candidates’ positions I’ve ever seen. (Times, Sept. 9) I have cut it out and I believe a thorough study of it will make me the best informed voted I’ve ever been in my 30 years here.

A word to those candidates who have not taken a stand on the ballot measures: Don’t plan on my vote. If you won’t tell me how you intend to represent me in the City Council, why should I buy a pig in the poke?
