Malibu : Renovation at Zuma Beach
Work is scheduled to begin in January on a $6.2-million renovation at Zuma Beach, county officials said this week.
Gregory Woodell, supervising planner with the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors, said the work includes refurbishing nine restrooms, repaving 11 parking lots and improvements at a maintenance yard for beach cleaning equipment.
The work is expected to be finished by the summer of 1992, he said. It marks the first major face lift of facilities at the popular Malibu beach in 45 years. County officials said the beach attracted more than a million people a month during June, July and August.
