‘California Light’ in Spotlight

The Laguna Art Museum will hold a free, daylong symposium on its “California Light: 1900-1930” exhibition Oct. 13 at the Forum Theatre on the Festival of Arts grounds, 650 Laguna Canyon Road.

Sponsored by the museum’s Historical Collection Council, the event will be hosted by guest curator Patricia Trenton. Both speakers--William Gerdts, professor at City University of New York and an authority on American Impressionism, and Joachim Smith, an artist and professor emeritus at Cal State Fullerton--wrote essays for the show’s catalogue.

The symposium begins at 9:30 a.m. and will be followed by an open forum in the afternoon and a tour of the exhibition at the museum, concluding at 5 p.m.

Parking will be available for $1 across the street from the theater. A continental breakfast and buffet lunch will be available on the festival grounds for $15.
