Jazz Festival Begins 3-Day Run Tonight
The Hyatt Newporter Jazz Festival opens tonight with Bob Florence & Limited Edition, playing from 7:30 to 10 p.m.
The festival continues Saturday in two sessions: from noon to 5 p.m. with Barbara Morrison & the Frank Capp Trio, Elena Gilliam & the George Gilliam Quartet, the Mike Fahn Quartet and the Don Menza Quartet. In the evening program, singer Anita O’Day headlines at 7:30 p.m.
On Sunday, the Chuck Findley/Conte Candoli Quintet, the Pancho Sanchez Latin Jazz Orchestra, Stephanie Haynes & Friends, and Charles Rutherford’s “Big Super Band” with Bill Watrous will play from noon to 5 p.m. The Hyatt Newporter is at 1107 Jamboree Road, Newport Beach.
