Swindell Wins Outlaws Qualifying Race

Sammy Swindell started on the pole and stayed in front of a 24-car field Friday to win a 20-lap qualifying race for tonight’s World of Outlaws winged sprint cars September Nationals at Ascot Park.

Swindell, of Bartlett, Tenn., was followed in order by Steve Kinser of Bloomington, Ind., Doug Wolfgang of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Stevie Smith of New Oxford, Pa.

Those four cars will transfer to tonight’s feature field, with Smith starting on the pole and Wolfgang alongside. Swindell and Kinser will make up the second row, and the remainder of the field will be filled from heat and B-main races.
