After an apparent altercation in North Park, a 30-year-old San Diego man was hospitalized Sunday night with stab wounds to his right arm, authorities said.
Enrique Martinez was admitted to UC San Diego Medical Center suffering a deep laceration to his right arm, the artery of which was severed, said a spokesman for the San Diego Police Department. The wound triggered “substantial” blood loss, the spokesman added.
Area residents said the fight occurred about 6:50 p.m. in the 2600 block of Lincoln Avenue. But members of Martinez’s family disputed the account, saying the stabbing was an accident and not the result of a fight.
Martinez was listed in fair condition Sunday night, said a spokesman for the Medical Center.
