Gulls Sign Ex-Bruin, Release Two Players
Former Boston Bruin center Kraig Nienhuis, 29, has joined the San Diego Gulls training camp roster, and defenseman Brian Corso and center Peter DeArmas were released, General Manager Don Waddell announced Monday. Of the 30 players in camp, 11 are signed.
Nienhuis played in parts of three seasons with Boston, having his best year in 1985-86 when he scored 16 goals and had 14 assists in 70 games. He last played with Boston in 1987-88, in West Germany in 1988-89 and in Switzerland in 1989-90.
The Gulls will play an intrasquad scrimmage Saturday at the San Diego Sports Arena at 3 p.m., free to the public.
