SHORT TAKES : Roseanne and Show May Escape L.A. ‘Loony Bin’ for Twin Cities
Comedian Roseanne Barr and her husband and manager, Tom Arnold, plan to move to the Minneapolis-St. Paul area and bring production of her high-ratings television show “Roseanne” with them.
Arnold said the couple wants to escape what he calls “the loony bin” of tabloid photographers stalking them in Los Angeles.
The production of “Roseanne,” last season’s highest-rated TV series, could be moved to Paisley Park Studios as soon as next season, Arnold told the St. Paul Pioneer Press on Tuesday in a telephone interview from the “Roseanne” office in Burbank.
Even if the move meets resistance, Arnold said, he and “the missus” are in the process of buying a house in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
Arnold said the proposed move has yet to meet resistance from either the Carsey-Werner Co., which produces “Roseanne,” or ABC.
Paisley Park is a production facility owned by Minnesota-based rock star Prince and is in the Minneapolis suburb of Chanhassen.
