Sierra Madre : Term Limits for Volunteers
Members of City Council-appointed committees, commissions and boards may not serve more than two consecutive terms in their volunteer positions, according to a new ordinance adopted by the City Council Tuesday.
The six advisory bodies affected are the planning, parks and recreation, emergency services and cultural heritage commissions; library board of trustees, and waste management task force/recycling committee.
Members previously could serve an unlimited number of terms of two to four years, depending on the body.
The new limit applies to members after the expiration of their current terms.
