10 Kuwait Soccer Stars Reported War Victims

Associated Press

The Qatari newspaper Al Sharq reported Wednesday that 10 star players from Kuwait's national soccer team were killed fighting Iraqi occupation troops.

It did not say when the athletes died, and it withheld the names of the players and their clubs, citing security considerations.

Al Sharq, quoting an unidentified Kuwaiti refugee, also said Iraqi occupiers retaliated for Kuwait's successful ouster of the Iraqi team from Asian Games by plundering the premises of the Kuwait Football Federation.
