Keith Millard, an all-pro tackle, will miss the rest of the Minnesota Vikings’ season because of a knee injury. He was scheduled to undergo surgery today to repair damage to the medial collateral and anterior cruciate ligaments in his right knee, which was injured Sunday against Tampa Bay. Thomas Strauthers, 29, will replace Millard in the starting lineup. He has played sparingly in two seasons with the Vikings.
Quarterback Rodney Peete of the Detroit Lions, who suffered a pulled right hamstring in the first series Sunday against the Green Bay Packers but played the rest of the game, will be out for two to three weeks with the injury.
Coach Wayne Fontes said Bob Gagliano will start Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, with rookie Andre Ware in reserve.
Fuad Reveiz, who missed five of seven field-goal attempts and one point-after try, was released by the San Diego Chargers. . . . The Detroit Lions signed receiver Tim Stallworth, the Rams’ sixth-round draft pick, to their practice squad.
