Vertigo Lives: The L.A. hot spot Vertigo is not closing and is not under 30-day suspension, contrary to rumors circulating in the press. An Associated Press story last week said that California’s Alcoholic Beverage Control Dept. had suspended the club because it discriminates at the door based on people’s appearance. A spokesman for the club said that the rumors are unfounded and that the club is going strong.

Misstatement-- It was mistakenly stated in Wednesday’s Calendar that the Associated Press had reported that the Alcoholic Beverage Control Dept. had suspended the Vertigo club’s license. An AP story said that the department was seeking a 30-day liquor-license suspension of the downtown club. The club remains open.
